Suitability of submission
Please read first the Focus & Scope to have an overview, and to assess if your manuscript is suitable for the journal.
The Editorial Board expects the editors, reviewers and authors to respect the well-known standard of professional ethics, according to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Guidelines. Editorial process chain in all its parts ensures the integrity of the published materials. Journal of Electrochemical Science and Engineering follows closely a set of guidelines and recommendations published by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), ICMJE's Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals, and Council of Science Editors (CSE) Editorial policy statements.
The Editors, Reviewers and Authors are advised to read the Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.
Preparing the submission
Please refer to the submission preparation checklist to make sure that you have conformed to the requirements before beginning the submission process. Incomplete submissions will not be considered. Please add in the separate file the Cover letter clearly stating that the work presented in the submission has not been already published elsewhere and is not currently under consideration by another journal. In the Cover letter include at least three potential reviewers with their email addresses.
Conflict of interest
Authors must disclose any potential conflict of interest which might have influenced the validity of research. These include among others negotiated research for other parties, receiving honoraria, employment and consultancies, paid testimony and patent applications. Journal of Electrochemical Science and Engineering follows ICMJ recommendations. Please read and follow their instructions before submitting manuscript in Journal of Electrochemical Science and Engineering.
Authors are responsible for disclosing financial support from the industry or other conflicts of interest that might bias the interpretation of results. In the separate paragraph authors are obliged to declare explicitely whether conflict of interest do or does not exist.
Statement on Informed Consent
Journal of Electrochemical Science and Engineering adheres to the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals: Writing and Editing for Biomedical Publication (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals: Writing and Editing for Biomedical Publication. October 2007).
Patient identifiers will not be published in the Journal of Electrochemical Science and Engineering unless written informed consent is given and the content is essential for the scientific purpose and merit of the manuscript. Photographs of patients showing any recognizable features must be accompanied by their signed release authorizing the publication, as must case reports that provide enough unique identification of a person (other than name) to make recognition possible. Failure to obtain the informed consent of a patient prior to submission would result in manuscript rejection.
Submission procedure
1. Make sure that your manuscript conforms to the jESE author guidelines.
2. Prepare figure files according to the guidelines.
3. Prepare Graphical abstract according to the guidelines.
3. Prepare the Cover letter according to the guidelines.
4. Submit the manuscript using Journal of Electrochemical Science and Engineering online submission system. In order to do that you should login at the journal website and follow the submission procedure. If you do not have an account at the Journal of Electrochemical Science and Engineering website you should register first. After logging in the submission procedure involves the following steps:
- Start a New submission procedure by clicking the corresponding link
- Select the Section, make sure that your manuscript conforms to the jESE guidelines by checking Submission Requirements and Acknowledge the copyright statement (step 1). Optionally enter a note to the Editor (this is not a Cover Letter)
- Upload the main manuscript as a single file (Article Text in step 2). For the explanation of acceptable file formats see above.
- Upload successively required supplementary files - Cover Letter and Graphical Abstract, and other optional supplementary files (choose appropriate in step 2).
- Enter required metadata for all authors, paper title and abstract of the manuscript (step 3).
- Confirm the submission (step 4).
Submission preparation checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- I am a submitting author and I am authorized by all co-authors to submit this version of the manuscript.
- I, the submitting author, declare that the submission has not been previously published, nor simultaneously sent to another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- I, the submitting author, warrant that the submitted manuscript is original and that neither it nor any illustration or supplementary material, or any part thereof, are in any way in violation of any existing original or derivative copyright.
- I, the submitting author, declare that the text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
- Cover letter including at least three suggested referees is prepared and submitted separately.
- A graphical abstract is prepared according to the guidelines and submitted separately.
- Microsoft Word Journal template has been used for the preparation of the manuscript.
Withdrawal of manuscript
It is possible to withdraw your manuscript at any point before review process has finished. After it has been peer-reviewed, the withdrawal will not be possible.
Publication procedure
Reviewing
The correctly prepared manuscripts will be peer-reviewed and accepted for publication only upon positive decisions of referees and Editor of the journal. However, the final and irreclaimable decision is up to the Editor. The authors are expected to suggest at least 3 potential referees who are the experts in the field. At least two of the suggested referees must be from a different country than the authors.
Revision
Manuscripts marked for revision will be returned to the authors along with the referees’ reports. The revision has to be returned to the Editorial Office within 60 days or the manuscript will be marked as withdrawn. If the authors still want to publish the manuscripts with late revision, they have to resubmit them, and the procedure will be reset. In this case, the authors should state in Cover Letter the details of the procedure history.
English
It is essential that all submitted manuscripts are of correct English grammar and syntax. We encourage non-native English speakers to ensure that their manuscripts are checked for English before submitting them for consideration. We suggest for this purpose your manuscript to be checked by an English fluent speaking colleague before submission. The manuscript with poor English will either be rejected or the authors will be charged with 250 € for copyediting service.
Galley Proof
The manuscripts ready for publishing will be sent to the corresponding author as formatted text in pdf file for proofreading. The proof corrections should be returned to the ADMET & DMPK Editorial Office within 2 working days. If not, the Office will consider that the authors agree with the content of the formatted manuscript.
